The Mountain States Ford Demolition Derby is non-stop, metal-crunching mayhem! The Derby is a crowd favorite at the Central States Fair as local contestants from the region compete.
The Demolition Derby is open to anyone to participate, all you need is a car, a gutsy driver and a helmet. As the action starts, drivers crash and bang with the intent to make the cars in the field non-functional. As cars become inoperable the driver of the vehicle surrenders by raising a white flag. The car that is still functional at the end of the heat advances to the finals. The last car standing during the finals is deemed the Central States Fair Demolition Derby Champion.
Drivers must follow general rules to ensure the safety of racers and the public. All glass is removed from the vehicle prior to competition. Drivers are also not allowed to hit competing cars on the driver's side door.
