Miss Range Days Rodeo Queen Contest

The Miss Range Days Rodeo Queen committee would like to thank you for considering this pageant! They have strived hard to carry forward some of the original rodeo queen traditions that follow through history from the old west mixed with some of the modern-day features.

The crown is like no other in the state of South Dakota. It is made from leather carrying the Black Hills Gold, that shows off our fine state and the city of Rapid is accentuated by the red stone. The crown then features the vintage and almost rustic logo of the Range Days Rodeo. The development of this crown has taken three different steps of participation. The crown design was thought of by the 2019 pageant director, Cecilia Steen, of Scenic, SD. Leather works magician, Sorrel Muscat, Hell on Heelz-Muscat Leather & Beading, of Wall, SD, is in charge of the leather work. Then with help of Chelsea Steen of Rapid City, SD, and Riddles Black Hills Gold, the Black Hills Gold pieces took shape. Any young lady would be honored, we believe, to have the opportunity to wear and show off this crown.

South Dakota’s own Jack Gully of Newell, SD, was commissioned to develop the vintage style chaps. Along with Ceci, the two worked side by side to design and develop the western traditional style chaps that feature a look that ties in with the Range Days Rodeo is all about! The chaps are adorned with a buffalo head and pistol which accompany the cowboy lifestyle and the old west traditions but also amplify the glitz that rodeo queens wear today.

The committee is proud to offer either the cash scholarship option or trophy saddle. They have also worked hard to make sure that no contestant goes home empty handed!

Best of luck to you and again thank you for considering this pageant!

Respectfully,

Brittnay Lambert, Miss Range Days Rodeo Coordinator

Cecelia Steen, Miss Black Hills Stock Show Coordinator
